Making your own chai syrup at home is easier than you might think, and it's a delicious way to enjoy your favorite Starbucks-inspired drink for a fraction of the cost.
- 2 tbsp. Your favourite Teabloom's Chai or Spice tea
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 6 whole cloves
- 2 star anise
- 5-6 fresh ginger slices
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Gather the spices. Cut small slices of ginger. Add water, tea, cinnamon , cloves, sugar, star anise, vanilla, and ginger to a saucepan. Simmer gently for 10–15 minutes.
Strain. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer to remove all the spices. Let is cool.
Transfer syrup to a pump bottle. Use for your favourite hot or cold drink. Use for baking also. Store in the fridge for up to a week.
