Spiced Chai Skull Cookies

A soft buttery cookie with just enough sweetness to balance out the warm spices of chai tea.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-2 tsp. Teabloom Spiced Chai Tea
  • strawberry jelly
  • icing sugar

Instructions
 

  • 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt.
  • 3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and tea , mixing until well combined.
  • 4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending until just combined.
  • 5. Roll the dough out to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use skull-shaped cookie cutters or a circular cutter to cut out the shapes, then place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • 6. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool .
  • 7. Add jelly in between the cookies. Sprinkle with icing sugar and enjoy!
