Darjeeling Dipping Oil
An easy, nourishing oil that feels indulgent without being heavy—perfect for dipping crusty bread, sharing at the table, or enjoying on a quiet evening at home.
- 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
- Darjeeling Estate Black Tea
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 2 tbs. sun dried tomato
- 2 tbsp. olives
- salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
Pour the olive oil into a small saucepan. Set over very low heat , you want it warm, not sizzling. Add the Darjeeling black tea to the oil. Let it gently warm for 5–8 minutes, allowing the floral, earthy notes to infuse. Do not let the oil bubble.
In a shallow serving dish, add infused oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, paprika, sun dried tomato, olives, salt, and balsamic vinegar. Serve with sourdough bread.
This oil can be made ahead and gently reheated before serving. It also works beautifully drizzled over roasted vegetables, pasta, or grilled bread.
