This tea is named for Charles Grey — the second Earl Grey and the Prime Minister of Britain from 1830 to 1834. History claims one of the Earl’s men rescued the son of a Chinese Mandarin who almost drowned. As a gift of thanks, the Earl was presented with bergamot-flavored tea.
