About Earl Grey
Teabloom’s Earl Grey is a beautiful interpretation of one of the West’s most popular teas. Combining superb quality organic black tea leaves with cold-pressed Italian bergamot oil, our version adds cornflower petals for a gorgeous visual experience that enhances this exceptionally rich, flavorful tea. Suitable for any time of day.
Bergamot oil is derived from peel of bergamot oranges and gives Earl Grey teas their distinctive aroma and flavor. This perennial favorite is named for Charles Grey, England’s Prime Minister from 1830-1834, and the second Earl Grey. According to tradition, the Earl was given bergamot-flavored tea after one of his men rescued the drowning son of a Chinese mandarin. Over time, Earl Grey teas have become classics of the English tea table and are often enjoyed with lemon or sugar to enhance the citrus flavor.
Steeping instructions
- 1. Heat water to 208˚F.
- 2. Place tea in cup and pour water over the leaves.
- 3. Steep for 3-5 minutes.
- 4. Enjoy!
For loose leaf iced teas, use 2 tsp per 8-ounce cup.
