About Black Currant Nectar
Over the years, black currant tea has been one of the most popular flavored teas in North America and Europe. This superb blend combines fine, organically-grown black tea from China’s Yunnan Province – one of the oldest tea-growing regions of the world – with organic blackberry leaves and other natural flavors for a distinctive and fruity brew.
Cultivation of black currants in the United States was largely banned beginning in the early 20th century because it was considered a threat to the white pine timber industry. Although still relatively uncommon in the United States, the fruit’s sweet berry-like flavor and health benefits (it is a rich source of antioxidants and vitamins) are capturing the attention of tea-lovers. Steeping instructions
- 1. Heat water to 208˚F.
- 2. Place tea in cup and pour water over the leaves.
- 3. Steep for 3-5 minutes.
- 4. Enjoy!
For loose leaf iced teas, use 2 tsp per 8-ounce cup.
