Affordable Tea Party Gifts That Will Make Them Smile

Is any tea party complete without tea favors? Maybe, but it just doesn't feel the same without them.

You want to send your guests off with a genuine gesture of appreciation. You want to give them something that lights up all those warm feelings as they recall how spectacular your event was.

But, you want to give them tea party gifts they’ll want to use — not something that will go in the trash or sit in the back of their cupboard.

We believe in gifting, but we also believe in staying within your budget. The great thing is you can gift your guests something useful and sentimental and it doesn’t have to break the bank.

You'll find creative favor inspiration below, no matter how little or how much you want to splurge. Here are some of our favorite ideas for tea favors your guests will love.

Always Consider Your Guests

The key to choosing the perfect gift is understanding your guests. If your guests can’t drink caffeine send them home with herbal teas they can enjoy. If they are minimalists, they might prefer an edible present instead of a new teacup that will take up space.

The most considerate and appreciated gifts sprout from understanding your friends and loved ones. You can gift the same present to everyone to make it easy. If your party is intimate, you can also gift different items to each guest based on their personality.

Find Inspiration From Your Theme

Had Hatter-themed tea party

Your guest’s preferences are the most important decision-maker for your tea favors. Second in line is your theme. If you have a theme for your tea party, it’s extra fun to send your guests home with tea party gifts that reflect the theme in some way.

The object itself doesn’t have to be themed, but finding a creative way to hint at the theme brings it all together. Consider wrapping your favor in a bag that matches the theme, or labeling the favor with some twine and a tag that hints at the theme.

DIY Tea Blending Table & Gift in One

Tea, herbs, and spices in spoons, cups, and a teapot against a dark tabletop as a creative tea favor.

Invite your guests to create their own tea blends. It’s a two-in-one activity and gift they’re sure to enjoy in the comfort of their home. We first introduced this idea in our Halloween Tea Party blog, but it can be re-purposed for any themed tea party.

Mason jars make excellent containers for these tea blends. Be sure to leave out a few sample recipe cards, or a simple formula so they have a starting point for inspiration. They can mix herbs or tea leaves with dried fruit, flowers, spices, and more!

Homemade Tea Cookies

Don’t underestimate the homebaked charm of tea cookies. They’re excellent for any time of year and great as a budget-friendly and adorable gift.

We have our spin on spiced Taylor Swift Chai Cookies that use quality loose-leaf tea instead of the tea bag dust you normally find in the store. You can use Sweet Vanilla Chai or Supreme Spiced Chai for this recipe — both are excellent.

Wrap your cookies up in a bag and finish it with a craft string bow and a small thank you tag. If you want to make this gift extra special, include a recipe card so they can bake and enjoy these cookies at home whenever they like.
