When steeped, the pearls slowly unfurl releasing their rich jasmine bouquet for a heavenly smooth green tea with a gorgeous aroma and sweet undertones. The leaves may be re-infused multiple times.
Creating tea scented with jasmine is a traditional practice requiring patience and craftsmanship, and which can only be carried out for a few months each year. Green tea is the most common base, although jasmine flowers are also added to black, white and oolong teas, or combined into herbal blends. When prepared properly, jasmine tea should taste mild, floral, and even slightly sweet or nutty. If yours tastes bitter, experiment with steeping it with cooler water or for a shorter time.
Steeping instructions
- 1. Heat water to 185˚F.
- 2. Place tea in cup and pour water over the leaves.
- 3. Steep for 2-3 minutes.
- 4. Enjoy!
For loose leaf iced teas, use 2 tsp per 8-ounce cup.
