There’s something quietly luxurious about baking with tea. Presenting the perfect cake to pair with Teabloom’s teas—an Earl Grey Vanilla Cake—and the result is so fragrant, moist, and delicate that it is simply irresistible.

This cake calls for 1 teaspoon of Teabloom’s Earl Grey tea leaves going directly into the cake batter. At first glance, it doesn’t seem like much, but that modest amount transformed the entire flavor profile. Earl Grey, with its distinctive bergamot essence, introduced a floral, citrusy depth that mixed beautifully with the soft warmth of vanilla. Together, the two created a pairing that felt both cozy and elevated—like afternoon tea at a sunlit café.

The vanilla provides that familiar, buttery sweetness that comforts the palate, while the Earl Grey adds a surprising lift: bright, aromatic, and just slightly earthy. It’s a cake that feels simple, but tastes sophisticated. Every bite starts mellow and sweet, then finishes with a gentle, perfumed linger that makes you want another forkful.

Naturally, this cake pairs like a dream with a hot cup of—you guessed it—Earl Grey tea. Served together, they echo and amplify each other: the bergamot in the tea enhances the flavor in the cake, while the cake brings out the tea’s natural sweetness. If you're not into doubling up, a mild black tea, chamomile, or even a vanilla rooibos would also complement it beautifully.

Whether you’re serving it as a teatime treat, a light dessert, or just a slice to savor alone in a quiet moment, this cake has the kind of elegance that sneaks up on you. It's not loud or flashy—but it is unforgettable.
